Caphosol® Dosing And
Administration
Caphosol should be started at the start of cancer treatment and
continued for the duration of the treatment.
Dosing from the start of cancer treatment
- 4 rinses per day
- PRN up to 10 rinses per day
For xerostomia, dosing is 2 doses/day up to 10 doses/day as
needed.
Estimating the Amount of Caphosol Needed During
Therapy
- One 30-dose pack will last approximately 1
week at 4 doses/day
- One 120-dose pack will last approximately 1
month at 4 doses/day

Pack
Quick preparation with no measuring
- Combine contents of 1 blue and 1 clear container, swirl
glass
- Swish half of the solution for 1 minute, spit
out, repeat
- No reconstitution is needed. Patients receive a precise mixture
and consistent therapeutic benefit with each use.
Patients should rinse for 1 full minute with each
half of the solution, so the total duration of rinsing is 2
full minutes each time, and avoid eating or drinking for
at least 15 minutes after use.
