What is Caphosol?
Caphosol® (supersaturated calcium phosphate rinse) is a prescription mouth rinse. Caphosol should be started right at the start of cancer therapy. Taken as directed, Caphosol:6
- Helps keep your mouth healthy
- Moistens, lubricates and cleans the mouth to help you chew, speak, and loosen tough mucus
- Provides soothing relief
Some of the treatments your doctor selects for you are fighting your disease and other treatments, called supportive care, are meant to help with symptoms and side effects. Like anti-nausea and pain medications, Caphosol is a supportive care treatment. Caphosol is for certain potentially serious complications that can occur in the mouth—oral mucositis and/or xerostomia (dry mouth). It has been clinically proven to shorten the duration and severity of mucositis and relieve dry mouth when used with fluoride and started at the beginning of cancer treatment.6,7

Caphosol Safety Information:
- If Caphosol is swallowed accidently, no adverse effects are expected
- There are no known interactions with other medications
- Reported side effects have been rare and generally mild
