Using Caphosol
You Can Stop Oral Mucositis Before It Starts
Just Follow These 5 Simple Steps...
Caphosol® is very easy to use and it is the only prescription mouth rinse that is clinically proven to decrease the incidence, duration and severity of oral mucositis.7 Don't wait for the onset of symptoms to start Caphosol; damage to the lining of the mouth occurs on the first day of cancer therapy. Control oral mucositis by starting Caphosol on the first day of cancer treatment.
Just follow these simple instructions:

- At the start of cancer treatment you should use Caphosol 4 times per day - up to 10 times per day if the pain gets worse.
- Continue using Caphosol for the duration of your cancer treatment.
- Regular use throughout the length of your treatment will help keep oral mucositis symptoms at bay and will lubricate and clean the mouth, tongue and throat so you are more comfortable drinking, chewing and speaking.
- If you are using Caphosol and are symptom free, this simply means that Caphosol is working. Continue use for the duration of treatment.
NOTE: You should avoid using other mouth rinses, eating and drinking for at least 15 minutes after using Caphosol.
You can use Caphosol in addition to other treatments as there are no known interactions with other therapies. Reported side effects with Caphosol have been rare and generally mild. No adverse effects are expected if Caphosol is swallowed accidentally.
